Jodi is passionate about singing! She sang solos in band, The National Anthem at Varsity sporting events in High School, and in church choir. She played percussion and could be seen marching on the football field carrying the quad toms in the drum line.
Jodi has dreamed of doing her own thing all her life. But taking the early career placement tests never satisfied what that thing would be. Jodi bounced between colleges and wouldn't settle on any emphasis until after serving a mission for her church to Hawai'i.
Music was her passion, but all the voices that talked about "marketable skills" said that she was not qualified or that art was not a viable option.
Now, Jodi is on a mission to change the discussion around how to guide children's education toward mastery and speciality rather than a broad, generalization that leaves kids confused and stuck in mediocrity.
In the process of finishing her degree while raising her children, Jodi was overwhelmed at the number of parents who were ill-equipped to raise educated children AND be self-reliant.
While attending a homeschool conference in Virginia, Jodi decided she would make it her mission to create resources for parents who are staggering under the pressures of parenthood and providing for their families.
Jodi has been a guest on over two dozen other podcasts (and more to come), a columnist in a virtual magazine, spoken at homeschool conferences, and featured on virtual summits.
A certified Change Manager, Jodi is working to become a Certified Change Practitioner, DEI Consultant, and Culture Consultant for large and small businesses.
Our Modern Heritage is a series of programs that include podcasts, social groups, courses, challenges, virtual summits, and coaching to guide families and organizations to observe patterns and frameworks of successful cultures to model what works. Jodi is calling this method Family Culture Hacking (#familyculturehacking).
Culture Hacking isn't new. It is often used in corporate environments. Jodi is taking this concept and applying it to serve our families and give us a guide for how to intentionally shape our relationships, strengthen and unite our families, and reshape the culture of the world.
Mother Teresa said, "if you want to change the world, go home and love your family."
In 2019, they knew Michael needed to quit his job. After more than ten years of struggling professionally, they felt strongly that they needed to devote themselves to developing their businesses and becoming more entrepreneurial.
Jodi and Michael have made lots of sacrifices along the way. They sold their home and now share a home with Jodi's parents as they support each other through their respective growing pains. They are all on a transformational family culture journey!
Jodi still sings occasionally, and has plans to follow that dream some day. In the meantime, she devotes herself to building her businesses, homeschooling her kids, and serving as a coach and mentor to help others build their businesses.
and get started, or start over on the right foot!

Jodi has taken these frameworks and designed them into a roadmap for families to follow for navigating the components of a successful family culture (pictured below). Each component is like an element of navigating a road trip.
Your family is the vehicle and you have four basic identity pillars. Then you have four basic navigation strategies, and four basic maintenance principles.
Jodi teaches these frameworks inside of her programs and discusses them in her podcasts and community.
